it is an account with a brokerage firm which allows the client to buy shares with money borrowed from the broker. Margin requirements can be met with a deposit in cash or shares.

margin buying is buying some shares with cash, and paying for additional shares by borrowing from the stockbroker. For this a client has to open to a margin account. There are regulations on the limit up to which shares can be bought on the margin, and that limit can be changed form time to time.

margin call is a d emand from a stockbroker from a client to deposit fresh securities or cash to maintain the requirements of a minimum margin initially agreed upon. If the customer does not respond, the stockbroker may sell off the securities he is holding on the MARGIN ACCOUNT.
Market Capitalization
The total market value, at the current stock exchange list price, of the total number of equity share issued by a company.
